Pauleen Luna was recently interviewed Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) during her baby shower prepared by Aprica on Oct. 20. The expectant mother expressed her excitement about having a baby with 63-year-old Vic Sotto.

Pauleen admitted to initially being scared of having a child. However, her excitement has now overtaken her fears. She explained:

“Noong hindi pa ako buntis, sabi ko, ‘Shucks, siguro yung pagpapanganak is one of the most scariest moments in my life. Kasi, di ba, imagine a human being will exit your body? Pero pag nandun ka na pala, mas mabigat yung excitement, kaya parang hindi mo na iisipin yung hirap.”

As Pauleen witnessed Vic being a good father to his four grown-up children, she affirmed her belief that he will be a great dad to their kid. Despite his prior experiences, Pauleen confessed that Vic is still a bit nervous about having a baby again.

She narrated: “Parang first na ulit kasi nakalimutan na niya. Parang first niya ulit, kasi ngayon, pag hinawakan niya [yung baby], natatakot siya, parang hindi siya nakahawak ng apat. Kasi nga, matagal na, parang first time siya ulit. And ang dami niyang, ‘Ah, ganun pala ‘yan, ganyan pala.'”

“I’ve seen him as a father kasi to his four other children—very loving and very caring. I just don’t see that with how he treats his children. I see that with how his children treat him. Doon ko nakikita na ang galing na tatay nito, kasi grabe yung respeto, yung pagmamahal na ibinibigay ng mga anak niya sa kanya. So, he must have been a very good father, di ba, kasi ibinabalik nila sa kanya.”

Pauleen’s observations made her certain that her husband has a really strong bond and an incredible relationship with his children. However, in her case, she said that she is still in the process of learning how to be a good parent.

She explained: “Siguro ako yung bad cop, siguro siya [Vic] yung good cop. Kasi siyempre, his fifth na rin, e. This is not his first. Ako naman, since hands-on nga, di ba, ganun naman normally ang nangyayari? Yung mas hands-on, yun ang mas disciplinarian.” She admitted to being thankful for having strict parents who instilled in her a strong sense of discipline. Aside from her family having her back, she’s got all her friends – the dabarkads from “Eat Bulaga!” – in her corner.

She said: “Yung sa mga taga-Eat Bulaga!, almost all of my co-hosts are mothers, so even at the very start of the pregnancy, ang dami na naming nakukuhang tips and natatanong sa kanila. They’re my 24/7 hotline. I’m well supported by my friends.”

The two got married on Jan 30, 2016. They are eagerly expecting their first child by November of this year.
