Being pregnant is one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking moments of a woman’s life. There is no joy equal to feeling another human being created in your body. Signs of life such as the baby moving and kicking plus finding out its gender are all wonderful experiences. But what they didn’t tell you is that there are also terrifying complications that can happen to a pregnant woman.

We know that pregnancy isn’t really that pretty, aside from the maternal glow they insist exists, there are also swollen feet, weight gain, backaches, and morning sickness to contend with. There are even worse ones that involve tearing! But one woman in China takes the cake for the worst pregnancy complication ever.

Ms. Zhang experienced a terrible pain in her stomach. Initially, she thought that it was just a stomachache but it lasted for hours and was accompanied by worrying symptoms such as high blood pressure and breathing issues. Zhang was taken to the hospital at around 10 in the evening on October 2, 2017.

In Peking University Shenzen Hospital, doctors determined what had caused the pain and said that something “extremely rare” happened to her. It appeared as though the baby’s leg kicked so hard that it poked a hole out of the woman’s uterus wall. The baby’s foot was now poking into the woman’s abdomen which caused the pain.
