Joey de Leon has once again become a target of netizens’ anger due to his “insensitive” Instagram caption. The “Eat Bulaga!” host made headlines again for something he said that did not sit well with other people. The first incident was when he blatantly dismissed the troubles and plight of people who suffer from depression. People decided to tear him a new one because of his controversial statements.

But now, he is again being reprimanded by some netizens who are still mourning the death of Hashtags member Franco Hernandez. In a recent Instagram picture, Joey is seen to be having fun by the ocean. This would have been fine for the angry netizens if it weren’t for the fact that he accompanied it with, what some say is, an insensitive caption.

“Nuknukan ka na ng katangahan pag sa DEAD SEA nalunod ka pa!“

This did not sit well with Franco’s supporters because the young man died due to drowning. People began calling out Joey for his lack of sensitivity towards the death of the young man. A Facebook user who posted about the incident asked the “Eat Bulaga!” host if he does not possess any filter at all.

“Hindi ka pa po ba nadala sa mga issues na kinasangkutan mo? I mean, madami ka nang ginagawang ganyan. You keep on posting sa social media na hindi mo man lang pinag iisipan or sadyang sinasadya mo lang talaga.“

Even Teddy Corpuz is believed to have spoken about Joey’s Instagram caption. In his Twitter account, Teddy said this:

“Sana binigay mo na lng muna sa amin ang maipagluksa ang kaibigan at kapatid namin, kahit isang araw lang. kahit ngayon lang. Nakakalungkot ka po. Ipapag pray po kita na gabayan ka ng puong may kapal.“

Others came to defend Joey, who has since then deleted the caption. They said that there is no connection with the host swimming in the Dead Sea and Franco’s death. They said that some people just wanted to overreact about this and make it a big deal.
